Refreshing the social spaces
See how we transformed the restaurant and social space of a leading city legal practice
The Brief
To refurbish and refresh the customer’s current staff restaurant and social space, adding style and function to create a welcoming area for the staff of a thriving legal practice in London.
The Journey
Gosh Projects worked closely with the customer to create their new social area and refresh their current restaurant. This involved different colour schemes, look and feel in different areas, as well as different styles of products.
Restaurant
In the Restaurant we worked to incorporate some of their existing furniture, supplied to them by Gosh over 5 years ago. The colour scheme in this area was reds and greys.
We supplied red sofas, with black legs, with black hairpin leg coffee tables and black tops in one of the soft seating areas. Above these, we added wire pendant lampshades to pull the area together.
One of the customer’s requirements was a ceiling feature, this was to be a 4.5m x 3.3m black, aluminium structure, covered with artificial plants, to make the room feel less corporate.
The customer wanted to increase the number of low-level stools, so we supplied these to match the existing, along with rugs to help the area feel more homely and to help with acoustics. We had the rugs made for the customer, to commercial standards for wear and durability and ensured these are all non-slip for staff using the Restaurant. We added in red lounge chairs, scatter cushions and more coffee tables. We also added several floor and table lamps. Also, to improve the ‘domestic’ feel, we provided voile drapes to hide the very corporate look of Venetian blinds.
We proposed using their existing bench seats, but fitting new cushions to the tops of these; the existing tables were in excellent condition which saved the customer money.
In the Social Area, the customer wanted to create space for their staff to enjoy, so this needed to be more comfortable, different fabrics and a different look and feel. This naturally split into a bar area and comfortable seating areas, with 65” TV’s on the walls.

The mixture of truly bespoke and standard products has worked out brilliantly.
