The importance of colour in the workplace

Not so many years ago, there were very few options when it came to colours on Office Furniture. Filing cabinets were often in coffee and cream or brown and beige and desks were generally only in maple, beech or oak.

There are now so many finishes available

Over the years, more and more colour options have been brought in to add to the previous options available. This started with white and walnut desks and has now evolved to concrete effect MFC. It has always been important to not compromise on quality but just to add more options for customers.

The addition of colour subconsciously affects how we work and in turn our productivity. Colours have an effect on our mood and attitude.  Colour can be used to create different working areas and to separate working and breakout areas.

We now provide 13 standard MFC finishes for desks, cupboards and boardroom furniture and we also have many other options including bright red or yellow.

One of our most popular finishes so far in 2020 has been concrete as more offices want an industrial look workplace without an inflated premium. Not only have the desk finishes improved, but there are now different colour leg options including black, white, exposed timber and even galvanised steel.

When it comes to steel, gone are the days of coffee and cream and in are bright filing cabinets and cupboards. Steel can even be matched to a company RAL colour.

Colour can brighten the workplace and improve mood

Chair colours are one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to bring colour into an office. From operator chairs to sofas and soft seating, we have hundreds of coloured fabric options to choose from. These can be two-tone, with different colour scatter cushions or contrasting colour sofas sat next to each other. Again, we can match colours to a company logo or colour scheme.

Another popular way to add colour is to fit coloured desk-mount or free-standing screens to separate different working areas or zones. At Gosh Projects, we work with interior designers or architects to help your business perfect their colour strategy or we can work directly with a customer and advise you on the best options.

All of this may seem daunting or too much to take in, but we really are the experts in this area, so please get in touch if we can help at all!
